Now this is interesting because it’s not an aerospike engine. An aerospike engine has an annulus exhaust as opposed to the circular exhaust of the bell engine.

This new engine has a linear exhaust, so shouldn’t be called an aerospike. It’s sort of intermediate between an aerospike and bell engine, which makes it interesting.

The linear configuration resembles some scramjet designs. (?)
