I’m having another attempt at it for a free mind map, please point out any errors so I can correct them.

Version 3

This is algorithm for how people process information

In the external environment (the world) the Human body has 5 Perceptions of all which feed into the Brain which has a Conscious Level (sleep / awake) involving Awareness (full / partial) > all of which make up the Mind (yourself, awareness of self, awareness of the body, awareness of mind) > which has a lifetime of memories continually replaced (some forgotten, some remembered) > all of which consist of electro-chemical activity in the brain comprising over one hundred billion neurons which process perceptual information, assess it for threats or friends, create decisions and form conclusions then appropriate emotions are then expressed as reactions though facial expressions back to other people in the External environment.

>brain comprising over one hundred billion neurons

maybe start of with a simpler model, like just one, then two, then three neurons

hundred-billion sounds impressive, if you could just demonstrate two performing something useful

Passing information one one to the other.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synapse

In the nervous system, a synapse is a structure that permits a neuron (or nerve cell) to pass an electrical or chemical signal to another neuron.

There are two fundamentally different types of synapses: Chemical and Electrical.

Reading it again, its still not right.

Version 3.2

Added storage of information and synapses.

In the external environment (the world) the Human body has 5 Perceptions of all which feed into the Brain which has a Conscious Level (sleep / awake) involving Awareness (full / partial) all of which make up the Mind (yourself, awareness of self, awareness of the body, awareness of mind) which has a lifetime of memories continually replaced (some forgotten, some remembered) all of which consist of electro-chemical activity in the brain comprising over one hundred billion neurons and 100 trillion synapses which process perceptual information and stores it, assess it for threats or friends, create decisions and form conclusions then emotions are then expressed as reactions though facial expressions back to other people in the External environment.

Gee I didn’t realise just how many links that one page had and those pages link to numerous other pages, could keep you busy for weeks.

I find this science quite fascinating, I’d rather believe in this instead of any god or afterlife but unfortunately I will probably be long dead before its feasible (assuming it is)

It’s going to be strange for those around when “immortality” technology is being developed but is still several decades away. There’ll presumably be huge pressure to develop “brain-in-a-jar” technology, or some kind of suspended animation, as a stop-gap.

Yes I think perhaps I’ll be too late but my children may just sneak in
I joke that I want them to clone me a new body and upload my mind into it

Perhaps in a century or so people will vote Yes or No on if AI are allowed to marry other AI’s or AI’s and human can marry and some observer will troll them about it

I’ve mentioned before that I don’t understand the wish to live forever. You do this life and that’s it. I don’t need a god either. I’m just going back into the place I was before I was born. You all remember what that was like?

:)

Yeah old age seems the pits, my dad whose 88 isn’t in the best of health (mental or physical) and its not much of a reward for decades of work

I can see that morals pitfall of mind uploading as well, testing them and having damaged minds as the technology isn’t quite right or advanced enough.
