Researchers Find Evidence of Dynamical Dark Energy

An international team of researchers led by University of Portsmouth Professor Gong-Bo Zhao has found that the nature of dark energy may not be the cosmological constant introduced by Albert Einstein a century ago.

I’m not convinced that a constant introduced into an equation has any inherent “nature”.

Is there a close dark matter patch nearby we can study with a probe?

Dark matter and dark energy are different things.

Both are supposedly everywhere, but I don’t think we have any suitable probes for studying them (AFAIK).

I’ve read the article now, but I’m not much enlightened.

Other than to note:

University of Portsmouth?

I remember when it was Portsmouth Tech.

Yes I keep getting dark matter and dark energy mixed up.

Dark matter attracts. Dark energy repels.
