Subject: twilight mental states

as of this moment i’ve declared anything that diminishes the importance of (natural) twilight mental states as terrorist. Absolutely anything and everything that does.

on that subject, does everyone have them, and sense them?

does the state have them, does ideology have them, do machines have them, do banks have them, does money have them, does TV have them?

now to the absurd…

what if wakefulness (consciousness) diminished the importance of twilight mental states, further, if I was to develop a psychological delivery system to do such a thing what would it look like?

it may include that, but was more meaning the transitional mental states between sleep and wakefulness, though i’m reluctant to call them transitional.

i’m thinking twilight mental states are as important as wakefulness and sleeping, distinct enough to warrant a (soft)category. Also, of course, that they’re functionally important.

Okay.

on that subject, does everyone have them, and sense them?

Yes. It’s called hypnagogia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnagogia

does the state have them, does ideology have them, do machines have them, do banks have them, does money have them, does TV have them?

No. It’s a psychological state.

>No. It’s a psychological state.

aware of that, point was those things don’t have twilight states, they are not animal, yet influence (people defer to such, for some part of their reality).

not sure all twilight mental states are hypnagogic, much as a single word could ever define a mental state.

OK, that now makes more sense, there are probably dozens of different and unrelated mental states that are transitional between conscious and unconscious states. For example transitions related to sleep, death, anaesthesia, drunkenness, limitations imposed by the sensory bandwidth, hypnosis, posthypnotic suggestion, muscle memory, pain, delerium, halucinations, daydreams, the laying down and recall and modification of long term memories, dream analysis, paranoia, panic attack, epileptic fit, stroke, etc.

The state between sleep and wakefullness is called hypnogogia

I do that limb jerk thing sometimes.

I also sometimes feel pain in my chest when there is sudden noise when I am in the not quite asleep state.
