Good day for washing bedding but I’m worried about the machine.
What does it mean when water leaks out from under a washing machine but has nothing to do with the inlet and outlet pipes?
What can I do about it if it happens again?

Happened during the Tub Clean cycle the other night. Haven’t used it since.
Maybe I should put it on its back and have a look at the underside before I try washing a load.
>I guess it means you have a leak somewhere else (probably at the machine end of hose connection)
No, there was no water leaking from the pipes this time either at the tap end or machine end.
>You could check the filter to see if its screwed in properly or full of muck and not sealing properly.
Where’s the filter?

Is it one of those Samsung ones? Set fire to it and ask for a refund…

No it’s a good quality LG, but it may have been unsettled by the move.

Mine is at the bottom of the machine a plug type thing that screws out and contains all the muck from the machine.

given your background in mechanical repair, I’d suggest you get a technician out to have a look at it…

OK I’ll try to get it on its back and have a peep underneath. Bloody heavy though.
Mine is in the middle of the agitator thingy. You lift it up from the top of the agitator and there is a little bag underneath that catches the dog hairs. I have to empty it reasonably frequently.
My parent’s washing machine does not have a filter. We found this out when I asked Dad why the washing was all fluffed and I suggested cleaning the filter. It has some other method, but I can’t remember the brand. Dad actually had the instruction book for it. So I told him to run a hot cycle with bleach to clean the machine.

Mine has two filter-thingies inside the tub that you remove and clean out periodically. They can’t have anything to do with the leak.
But I’ll have a look underneath.

Can’t get it on its side without disconnecting it all, so I just tilted it up and had a peep underneath. There is a hose thing leading to some filter-type machine. It has a tightening device which I moved a bit further towards where it connects. Can’t do anything else of any use ‘cos I don’t know what I’m doing.
So I’ll run a load now and see what happens.

Clean the filter.
If it’s a front-load machine it’s got a slab of concrete in it. If so, don’t try to lay it on its back. You’ll break it.

It’s a top loader.
Off to run a test load.
Filling up, no leaks yet.
Washing, all goes well.

How would you like to pay, cash, cheque, credit card, pay pal, bitcoin, or bank transfer
Draining, no problem. 29 minutes of this cycle to go.
Spinning, no anomalous behaviour to report.

Yeah we needed something to replace the bike/chicken/moving/locked out of new house sagas

that sounds like empirical experience talking
Final spin underway, plain sailing.
Spinning at maximum revs, 2 minutes to go.
Operation successful, no leaks.
The other night it might just have been complaining because I ran two Tub Clean cycles in a row, and I used detergent in the first one but the manual says not to.
Load of towels in now, I’ll only check it once or twice.
Did a can of no more leaks fix it?
Well two heavy loads and no hint of a leak. So either that bit of tightening I did fixed it or the Washing Machine Fairy had already attended to the problem.
My apologies for wasting your time.

I’ll post the invoice to you shortly.
