Social media seems to be a lot of look at me look at me type stuff, desperate for a like to the point its obnoxious and intrusive.

It’s pretty much a form of social media – sharing images, talking to people, leaving updates, meeting people etc.

You’d just like to think it’s not while you type away in our obscure corner of the internet, maybe it’s some flawed anti-popularity notion that it’s not a form of social media.
