Don’t know if you know this, was just posted on twitter by BOM Qld.

An easterly swell is building on beaches south of #FraserIsland, peaking mid-week as a deep low moves south. Please check conditions with your local lifesavers @lifesavingqld before entering the water and always #swimbetweentheflags. Forecasts: bom.gov.au/qld/forecasts/…

I’ve been watching that low for several days now.

Any low in the Coral Sea area that gets down to 1006 hectopascals is worth keeping an eye on.

And it looks like there’s a couple of other likely candidates expected in the next few days.

Quite a swell down there today. No wave-catching. And it stunk too. Dunno why.

Have they been spawning? And aren’t we a bit south for that?

Dunno, just a guess,
We get a real pong from rotting seaweed at the esplanade at certain times of the tear, around easter from memory.

Hmmm. We have had a lot of weed over the last few months. At times, thick like mud, but no noticeable smell.

In melb the beach stink tends to be dying molluscs. It could be there, too. Or lugworms, the mud flats around Redcliff and Bribie are rich with lugworms.

I’ve never heard of a lugworm. I’ll go look.

I haven’t seen castings like Arenicola marina make on this beach. I have seen people worming, though, but I think it’s for giant beach worms.

What I’ve got is 600ml Oak Chocolate milk.

It’s got
Energy 2256 kj
Protein 21 g
Fat 20.4 g
Carbohydrate 66 g
Sodium 150 mg
Calcium 345 mg

So what does that tell us boys and girls?

Tells me that it has a lot of sugar in it.

Also that if I drank four of them, I’d‘ve consumed more energy than my average daily allowance.
