Does anyone have any and have you trimmed the dead underskirt off?

We have burnt a few of ours and they always look great afterwards, and 9 times out of ten sprout a flower. But I have a few too close to our wooden house.

I was thinking about a hedge trimmer and if that would do the trick? Nevr having owned a hedge trimmer, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions tips etc

Muschee, just a thought: why don’t you ask this over on ScribblyGum as well?

Secateurs would do the trick if you don’t have too many… why buy a fossil fuel burning hedge trimmer when a few extra minutes with the hand tools would do the same. Its not like you need to trim them back weekly?

And besides, once they are trimmed, you may be able to burn off the stubble safely next to your home???
