I have a noisy dc motor that my turntable cartridge picks up
Would a piece of aluminum foil under the record mat stop the stylus from picking up the hum?
Or is there another way to stop the stylus picking up the DC motor hum?

50cycle hum?, same as mains, if DC motor unlikely to be coming from that

I have a 24 volt power supply going to the DC motor
its the same one as this

does that PCB have a grounding/earth point?

maybe some of your earths are wrong.

If I move the tonearm towards the motor the hum increases, move it way the hum starts to go away.

Im not sure.
Its got a 24 volt dc input.
I will have a look it it.

fairly good indication, but doubt you’t want the PCB and motor floating, because the plugpack PS will probably have some AC coupled through, so maybe an earth in the right place is required.

Would an earth wire connected to the DC motor casing work?

I’ll get an electrician to checks the earths.

cut two washers from the plastic packaging thta comes on everything. Pull the motor apart and place the two washers on the rotor shaft inside the bearings.
