Well I’ll throw in a question while things are quiet around here.

I’ve always grown the gourmet style, pick & grow lettuces….oakleaf, frilly pink, freckles etc.
But not the heart forming type…can anyone recommend a variety that I can grow coming seasons?

I just love growing the “oak” varieties and any loose leaf ones for that matter.

I always found Icebergs easy to grow well… can’t recall if there is a specific variety or not…

Me too and they are soooo easy. But I will soon have alot more space to fill so figure I’ll try the heading variety.

mignonette (sp?). i’m like you and grow mainly the pick-a-leaf-at-a-time type. cos lettuce has fans because you can pick a leaf or the whole plant. some of the varietal lettuce seed from Eden and Green Harvest are a mixture of all types, including iceberg .
