Warehouse Garden Fitzroy
I love the idea of the huge tall pots , once air cond ducts , rendered and pot plants placed in the tops of them.

27 pics out of 200 odd.. it was hard to pick which one’s to put in.

I have a question too.. under heading ‘Fitzroy gardens conservatorium’ pics, 3rd last pic, what is that background plant? it’s got tiny tiny leaves , bit like a moss of sorts. I have some of that in my fernery that appeared and I quite like it. It’s growing up the wooden fence at the rear of the fernery garden and I want to know I if I can take some little bits and plant it between ferns as a groundcover..

No I don’t mind at all Dinetta, I leave the link open to my album on purpose.. I send it to family and friends too. Saves me sending one by one, and they can view by the slideshow , rather than open a new page for each pic :)

Great photos, HP. Looks like you had a terrific day! Your garden club is more dynamic than the one I’m in, but I shouldn’t whinge, I don’t volunteer to run it !

Thanks Orchid. I am so glad I went today..I came home with a new perspective on my own garden. I was always puzzled when people admired my garden as, to me it’s a mess.. I wished I could see what they saw. But now I can! :D

Wow! I can’t believe everything is looking so good after the summer you’ve just had over there!

Love the hyacinth blue pergola! Don’t you just want to sit there!

Baby’s tears (Soleirolia soleirolii) – the plant with one of the most awful botanical names ever! LOL! and yes it is a groundcover and you should be able to transplant bits of it. It doesn’t like to dry out. Nice damp (but not wet) shady position and it will thrive.

Yep tried this one for a while and got fed up with trying to keep it moist..as much as I loved it…I no longer have it.

Do you know what the plants are in the hanging baskets HP? Possibly some type of begonia but I don’t know really. Beautiful colours.

I’m probably too late now but it looks like what we call “baby’s tears.”

Oh ok, thanks Horty!
I wouldn’t mind it creeping through the ferns. I did read though , it can become a pest. It obviously loves the shade because I didn’t know of it’s presence until the heatwave killed off some fern fronds , it was hiding in a little dark spot.

Cascade Begonias Pomolo , they were lovely , and something I’ve never taken that much notice of before.

Why ever not ? They’re tropical plants..

GA site: Begonias are tropical plants that can adapt to outdoor cultivation in a frost-free climate. If an area experiences winter frosts, these plants can be grown in tubs and brought indoors in autumn, kept in a well-lit position away from fires and heaters.

Trying again. Trying not to upset LF with too many quotes. He can be mean when he’s stirred.

We can’t grow tuberous begonias up here. I have never tried to, mind you but it’s just well known.

i just love water – and water gardens and those ones in particular. water gardens are cool, relaxing and give quite a sense of relief when you’ve got a hot sticky skin. yesterday was one of those days. overcast, some rain – yet hot. i kept thinking it would cool down so i worked in the garden without a hat. it did cool down eventually which gave us about 5 different climates all in one day.
