Two possible explanations are given, a shouded supernova and a new type of supernova. Let’s see if there are alternative explanations.

1. ET is shining a laser at us.
2. Black hole is ingesting matter, we’re looking at it either along the spin axis (seeing the jet) of through the accretion disk (circling matter is suddenly clearing)
3. A neutron star is becoming a black hole.
4. Something to do with dark matter.
5. A slow pulsar.

Thanks for posting this. It could be a discovery of as great an importance as the quasar or pulsar.
