Do you use pinterest?

I’m not interested in pinning anything.

I’m interested in posting things, such as how to make an oversized viola. Or how to make a multistage rocket at home. Or posting cartoons.

Is pinterest the best place for this?

All the “how to” pinterest things I see are on how to pin stuff to boards, which is not at all what I’m looking for.

Pinterest is huge. I don’t use it much myself, but millions of people do use it.

Posting is pinning. Pinterest isn’t about how to make things, it’s more about the finished project. People go there for inspiration. Are there many boards featuring science cartoons?
If you wanted to post How To, you could easily build a simple website using wix or Wordpress with your content. Pin finished projects on Pinterest with links to your website for instructions.

If not, Pinterest isnt for you. I don’t know if any other social media platforms that will do what you’re wanting. Most are for selling (eg Etsy) or inspiring, getting a business out there or chatting with friends.

There is heaps of stuff that you may not want to use but will stuff itself into your pockets anyway because it is designed to come with you.

It’s an evil place full of stuff that drains your brain and makes one feel inadequate.

I like it….shhhhh….don’t tell anyone. I do regulate myself…like with chocolate.

I have not experienced any “how to” videos. I use YouTube for that.

By the way…my sons’s father has made at least one viola.

I have used pinterest in the past for inspiration and understandings. But now one has to register. So that’s the end of that.

I looked at something on Pinterest some months ago, and now they keep sending me e-mails trying to get me to go back, but they never seem to be very interesting.

Why not use a blog for your how to do stuff stuff?

Probably rhetorical but more complexity involved.

That’s a great idea, thanks. I started on Wix earlier but got frustrated by its format limitations (eg. Text is immovable). I coud try it again.

Good. I was thinking instructables for “make an oversized viola from a wet t-shirt”. It’s sort of going quite well. The tuning pegs arrived a few minutes ago making the end gut and strings the only bits left to buy.

Have you read my blog? Oh, that’s right, you have. The blog I have limits image size to tiny, and isn’t popular.

you need a bonafide manufacturing space with a side income so the production of components is tax deductible / written off as part of a bigger loss. it can’t be done at home unless you have a fair amount of space , lots of money, machinery and time.
