Looks like a Gerbera relative.
and then there’s this weed seed that I have seen before but senility means I forget…. Its not a malva is it?

no, not a gerbera, but I might investigate its relatives…. the leaves and tap root reminded me of chicory or dandelion or even that coffee imposter, the ones the italian friends of mine used to roast up…..
and not a macamadamia, this fellow is like a woody weed….

theres a lot of pesky weeds in Canberra. its always been hard to pin them down.
those daisy petals remind me of military medals – and the nuts are cracked and ready to explode – yep – they could be locals of our capital.

Oh, that Tolpis is an annual weed in South West WA and probably a weed wherever your friend is too. It’s originally from Europe.
