Imagine if you could create space.

Have any SF books used creating new space as a weapon or for peaceful purposes?

Example say you wanted a 1000 meter wide sphere of space underground.

you deploy a space device and slowly the ground is pushed as new space is created until you have a perfect underground 1000 meter wide sphere of new space

or say create a 100,000 light year spherical diameter of new space which could be deployed to stop galaxies crashing into one another.

use your dark energy generator. Much easier.. just cause everything within a certain radius of space-time to rapidly expand.

I’ve heard that mentioned. Isn’t that how the Alcubierre drive works?

I haven’t seen any mention of creating space for peaceful purposes in SciFi, but then my knowledge of SciFi is probably horribly out of date.
