Is this a Trump border-protection scheme?

How old is Bubblecar, anyway?

Oh, and happy birthday Bubblecar. You won’t find a card via Australia Post because I haven’t got your new address. You could email it to me if you still have my email. Once upon a time I could have addressed the envelope with your name (not the Bubblecar one!) and town, and they would have delivered it. But it seems service, or offering just a little bit more than is in the manual is not the way things are done now.

One of my friends just spent a week on Barra. She said her crossing from Oban and back was still as. I only spent 3 days in Oban. I scored good weather.

Another birthday photo for mr car.

Somewhere one of my siblings has a photo of my maternal grandfather in a scene very much like this one. He was the sales assistant behind the counter.
This is 1860s USA.

I’ve just noticed you can’t see McCaig’s Folly in that picture. Doing a quick Wiki, I discover:
We are now supposed to call it McCaig’s Tower.
It is now a public garden. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t open to the public when we were there. I certainly don’t remember going inside.

I see nice photos posted from it occasionally. And there have been light shows there. Me? I think it looks like something MWSDB.

Lunch went swimmingly, and they left me with many bottles of fine vintage wine, fine cheeses etc.

They also did all the washing up :)

Even a birthday treat from David Attenborough tonight:

David Attenborough’s Tasmania

Sunday, 3 Jun

7:41 PM – 8:32 PM

Attenborough narrates the story of a vast island wilderness – ancient forests, pristine rivers & spectacular coastline. Seasons vary from dry heat, strong winds & cold bringing wombats, wallabies & platypus out in daylight.
