Have a wonderful day and I hope everything goes really well (except for something you can look back on and laugh about.) Remember it is a day to enjoy, not to stress about.

I hope so, but who knows!! We’re both knackered already.
Whoops, well there’s the first thing gone wrong – forgot to give mum the receipt for the croquembouche, and she will be leaving to pick it up before I get to her house in the morning! :(
Have taken a photo of the receipt and emailed it to her, she will print it out. Hopefully that will be OK…
have a great day Bon
Thanks roughbarked :)

Up and at’em, Bon!

:)
All the best to you and your husband, Bon. Your probably doing the deed at this moment. Hope the nerves are quiet.
MrP and I have just been picking another ???kg of rosellas. Haven’t weighed them yet. I made Rosella Chutney yesterday. Haven’t tried it yet but it smells nice.
We have been getting some lovely rain up here. Fortunately we haven’t had any flooding but the Mary River is well and truly up and just under the bridge. More rain this arvo is predicted so who knows what’s next.
Got to make a mile of bikkies this a/noon. Don’t like doing them in the dull, humid weather because they lose their crispness so easily.
MrP is planting potatoes and capsicums in the new veg garden. Our mustard green manure crop didn’t do very well so we are going to ignore them and pretend we never even planted them.
Stay well everyone. Sing to your plants!
Buggerdammit! I didn’t mean to hyjack your thread Bon. Very sorry.
Bugga I’m late again.
Break a leg Bon. :)
Congrats Bon, hope you and yours have a fantastic day!
Cheers,
pm
Thanks everyone for your well wishes – we had a fantastic day :)
Have a couple of photos already from my dad:
Now we’re pretty busy trying to get all packed for the trip down south.

I agree, anyone wearing a three foot stove pipe top hat has gotta look tall….

so did all go well? did you get through the day without throwing up?

Yep, everything went smoothly :)
I actually had an appalling night the night before – my stomach was really playing up, so I got no sleep, and the whole day before the ceremony I was feeling pretty awful. But then right at the point where things got completely flat out and I realised I had no time left for any relaxing (about half an hour before the ceremony) my stomach receded into the background. Then by the time we got to the reception, I was feeling pretty good, despite having had stuff all to eat all day and being completely knackered.
I woke up this morning and… drum roll my stomach felt FINE. I wasn’t really aware of it. That may not sound particularly exciting but oh my god it was incredible for me :)

Yep :) It’s now been about 28 hours since I last had a heat pack on my stomach.. and I’ve barely missed it :)

I guess the pre wedding stress didn’t help, and now that is all done

Most definitely. I reckon if I am still unwell while down south next week, that’ll be a pretty good clue that there is still something medical (e.g. parasite or something) going on. If not, then I will persevere with the meditation and things to fix me silly brain up! :D

You’ve lost a fair bit of weight with your illness by the looks of it, and you were pretty tiny to begin with (by my amazonian standards anyway). I hope they figure out what’s wrong with you or it just miraculously goes away on its own. Yay for no tummy troubles on the big day!

These photos are of the lookout at the top of Reabold Hill. The Amphitheatre is further down the hill – will post some photos when we get them :)
We’re happily ensconced down south – I had planned to keep up with the forum while we’re here, but the internet connection is too slow. So I’ll just pop in every now and then :)

- the quarry amphitheatre appeals because it seems such a good way of rehabilitating a quarry.

It is a really gorgeous spot. They have ballet on every year and a few other shows as well – concerts and such.
Here’s their website:

I hope the timing isn’t going to steal Bimbo’s thunder, but I just got around to putting my favourite wedding photos online.

Beautiful bon….looks so romantic….very regency! You were a beautiful bride! Your Mr Darcy looked pretty good too! :)
I’ll bet Mr Bon felt like the luckiest guy on the planet, you are one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever seen.
What a great feel your wedding had, judging from the photos.
:)

I really liked your wedding. It looks unusual in the nicest way and I loved your choice of colour for the dresses.
Really lovely Bon.
Mass reply following.. :)
Thanks Anne :) We didn’t really carry the theme any further than the outfits and the invites, but it was a pretty funny feeling playing quoits (at the reception) in regency attire :) Really glad OH talked me into the fancy outfits – when else will I indulge myself with a dress like that?
Thanks Horty :) What we were aiming for was fun and relaxed, particularly at the reception, and I think it worked out that way. Speaking of how Mr Bon (hehehe!! first time I’ve said that :) felt.. did I tell you guys the story of my make up trial? ROFL. Let’s just say it’s a good thing I had a trial!
Thanks pom and bubba :) I don’t know if it was unusual but it was “us” – first time in my life that I’ve actually wanted to go to a party!
I can only manage a quick pop in today, but I just really had to add my bit Bon.
What a breath of fresh air it is, for someone like me (who see’s wedding photo’s on a daily basis) to see a different style of wedding. Absolutely love the dress, and the theme.
Still can’t get over the giant of a husband you have :)
I’m so over the traditional white dress etc. If I ever got married I would do something different like you have. But after being engaged for 21 years I can’t see it happening…LOL… yep we forgot to get married :)

hehehe :) That’s a pretty impressive effort :)
Thanks :) It didn’t really feel to me like we were doing anything so different, but I guess I haven’t been to that many weddings so the “norm” wasn’t really ingrained in me – and I have become an avid follower of offbeatbride.com :D
Oh yeh, and the only other wedding I’ve been involved in (as a bridesmaid – I’ve attended a few since then) was also a bit … different :) The boys wore fantastic satinny, puffy pirate shirts, and the girls wore medieval dresses – the bride’s was pale blue.
Bride’s mum made the cake (shaped like abridge – they’re engineers!), and the food was a sausage sizzle :)
I was severely tempted by the idea of a sausage sizzle, but Mr Bon is a bit of a foodie so that was vetoed. We had a delicious, mostly vegetarian, partially organic buffet instead.
Congratulations!
From the photos it looks like a fantastic wedding day.

I’m hoping to stumble upon that story on my way to the top. If not, please spill. :)
In that case I probably never mentioned it, or it got lost in chat. He basically just spent about 4 hours staring at me, trying to get used to me + makeup!! I had a pretty similar reaction when the lady put all the makeup on – but I did get her to tone down the eyeliner and the lipstick, so I had two advantages over OH – I had seen it looking even MORE extreme, and I had a bit longer to get used to it. Anyway, when he got home from work he said something like “what happened to you? What did she do to your eyes??” and sat next to me on the couch for about an hour and a half trying to get used to it.
Then we went to a movie, and when we came out afterwards he had to get used to it all over again!!
I thought it was absolutely hilarious. The only other time I’ve worn makeup (apart from a very light dusting of mineral powder stuff) was when I was a bridesmaid. I can’t imagine how hilarious it would have been if I hadn’t had a trial and OH had had the same freaked out reaction as I walked down the aisle grin
