MrP is about to dismantle all the bizzo in the puter room because anklebiters love buttons and keys. Of course we aren’t allowed to be physical towards kids now so we’d rather take the workings away than risk the curiousity of an infant. His bed will be in this room for the few days. Need I say more!

Reading through some of the more recent postings it’s like catching up with old friends again. What a nice positive vibe the forum has :-)

I also need to get out into the tropical jungle that has grown through the ‘Wet’ and try to gain some semblance of order and actually grow some vegies.

We have some friends stopping over tomorrow night on their way through to Gippsland and we might ride a little way with them on their way on Saturday. I will ride the Scooter as the controls for that are light.

Good morning PM and others. I’m cooking hot cross buns, coconut cake, hummingbird cake, and some other goodies if I have time. Only noise here is oven fan gently humming. Warm kitchen + baking smells MMMMM!
It’s a very quiet Easter for hubby and I , just us two. All kiddlywinks are off holidaying elsewhere for the next 3 days.
Even giant son is over at his friends with the trailbikes. Only this time I’m sure he will remember to come back lol.
OH and I are off to a friends tonight for a Japanese meal, shabu shabu.

Good Friday will be packing and vacating. So I am not sure of my internet arrangements for the next 4 – 10 weeks… will try to pop my head in from time to time. Quite possibly, I could be online every day but I ain’t sure.

It kneaded the hot cross buns dough for 10 minutes.

Morning all, and I hope everyone has a Happy, Relaxing and safe Easter.
We’re not doing anything much ourselves socially. I am busy getting the garden ready for my absence of 3 weeks from next Thurs when I go to New Zealand. (6 more sleeps!!) Not that I’m excited or anything lol.
I’m also packing and unpacking my case to see if I can get everything in without going over the weight limit. Over the weekend I’ll be making some dinners to freeze for Mr O40 to have while I’m away. He wouldn’t starve without them though, I must like making work for myself!
Off outside to see what’s needed.

Here’s a good website with hints on packing light – you don’t have to go as far as one piece of carry-one luggage as he says, but he certainly has some good advice about keeping the bulk and weight down.

Oh dear…don’t mention hot cross buns…I feel ill at the thought. Maybe I shouldn’t have eaten six last night. Seemed like a good idea at the time but I think I’m over them until next year…

MrD’s late grandfather was a barber, who kept a book…(“tote”)…he had a shopfront too, and was most upset one day when somebody bought the bicycle in the window after some years of it decorating it’s spot there…he had to go and buy another bicycle to keep up appreances…

Those stories never threatened me, always had a happy ending and that was the main thing, also baddies got punished…the Easter story was always realistic, I don’t know why…my parents were so upset when a friend of theirs laughed at us all and told me about the Easter Bunny…but he still delivers for my children, 23, 21, 19, 17 and 15 years old this year…they make sure of it! Yes, so do I…not many people understand the bookmaking these days…MrD has spent the past 2 years not only computerising the books, but also ensuring that ladies who go to the races for the social outing, are also encouraged to have $2 bets on the locals and feel OK about it…it’s very intimidating to want to bet $2 on a race and the $100 per bet yobbos make you feel unwelcome, let alone the bookmaker’s clerks just about laughing in your face at your $2…placing a bet on a horse you fancy should be part of the “day at the races” experience…most ladies don’t bet much but we figure we might as well have the $10 they’ve budgeted for the day rather than the state-run tote…

Truth to tell, now that you mention it Lucky, I went through a period of being a “proper” mum, you know, sedate and upright and responsible…the two older girls got upset and wanted to know where their funny mum was…so I reverted and I’m still responsible but have given the sedateness away…
