Well Microsoft got a lot of free publicity in that Michael Jackson song, Wanna Be Startin’ Something where the refrain goes, “mama say gonna buy me Microsoft”.

To be unfair, philanthropy causes governments to stop funding things that are in the common interest/good and allows vested interests to push their barrows where needed/wanted or else they’ll go fund something over there instead…

I read that once on an American blog, seemed sorta reasonable. Maybe I’m just too cynical atm.

There must be about a billion charitable projects that would serve the vested interests of B&M G better than ridding the World of polio, so possibly you are.

USA has a long history of significant private philanthropy. Australia has a history of government-funded socialist-style common-good funding. The Australian model is slowly waning here, unfortunately.

Tech con-man Elvis Musk has apologised to a British cave diver he called “pedo guy” in a row over the cave rescue in northern Thailand.

The middle 10% section of the car was removed, leaving two parts of approx 45% each.
