Emergency services were called to the intersection of Beaudesert and Granard Roads in Rocklea at about 6:30pm yesterday, following reports a hatchback had become airborne and struck a Brisbane City Council bus.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital in shock. The bus driver was not hurt.

A Brisbane City Council spokeswoman confirmed there were no passengers on the bus at the time.

How odd. I know that intersection well. It’s a level multi-lane (both roads) intersection, with well designed left-turn filtering lanes. The main intersection is controlled by traffic lights. I can’t for the life of me understand how a car would become airborne at it.

we heard about this one 3 years ago and it was uphill too
