See, at that time, cheap houses in Armidale cost $12k, and in Brisbane they cost $25k. I can’t imagine Perth and Brisbane being that out of step with each other.

I mean if you could sell a house in Perth and then buy 40 houses in Brisbane, and so be able to rent out 39 houses, wouldn’t most people in Perth do so? I suspect you have mis-remembered.
