Must have been pretty fancy houses for a million back then.

We had a 4 bed house in a northern beach side suburb that we bought for about $32,000 in ’83 and sold about 4 years later for just over $40,000.

I was staying in Dalkeith.

TATE tells me that:
“Dalkeith is an affluent suburb of Perth, Western Australia within the City of Nedlands. It is also the richest suburb in Perth. This suburb had a median house price of $2.9 million in 2021.”

So yeah, prices were a little lower back then, especially outside Dalkeith.
