OTOH it’s important not to be ageist. Al Gore is 78, Bernie Sanders is 84, they don’t have trouble accepting anthropogenic Climate Change, while Marco Rubio is 55 and thinks it is woke nonsense. The modern Republican Party is just a dumping ground for nutters.

It is a case of follow the money. There’s a lot of people making money off the oil dollar. It’s what drives Wall Street to a large extent. All the Arab oil is sold in USD and transacted via US bank accounts. This is what drives US foreign policy under this administration: take control of other people’s oil, Venezuela, Iran. Bring all the world’s oil under US control and destroy anyone else who doesn’t play ball, Ukraine is just being used as a proxy to destroy the Russian oil industry now. Ending the oil dominance and transitioning to renewables just isn’t part of the plan. They don’t care about wrecking the planet in the process.
